5 oz pineapple juice
1 scoop whey protein powder
approximately 1 frozen banana
½ cup ice
1 scoop (about 1/3 cup)non-fat frozen vanilla yogurt
milk as needed for consistency
I put the ingredients in my Vitamix blender in the order listed then blend until smooth. I prefer a thick consistency so I don’t add too much milk.
Sometimes I add a little less frozen banana and put in a small handful of strawberries or blueberries. I also frequently add a large handful of spinach, which doesn’t affect the taste, but it will change the colour. Adjust the liquid according to your preference and you can add more or less ice as well to thin or thicken your smoothie.
I prefer to use pineapple juice not from concentrate, and use Booster Juice’s Vanilla Whey Protein Powder. This is my go to, post workout snack, I love it!
I use a Vitamix Blender(which I love), you may find with a less powerful blender that it doesn’t always break up all the frozen chunks and if you use a seedy fruit, like strawberry, it won’t pulverize the seeds.
The Vitamix is expensive, I took about a year to decide to purchase one and checked many reviews of different blenders before making my decision. In the end, I felt the Vitamix would be the one I would be happiest with due to its features as well as the reviews it received from its users. I’ve had it for almost a year and love it.
I do not receive any remuneration for any specific product recommendations. I mention those products I’ve been especially happy with.
