Christina Romeril is a personal trainer and wellness coach, committed to mentoring and empowering people to become the strongest, happiest and healthiest versions of themselves possible. Stronghappyandhealthy grew out of Chris’s lifelong passion for fitness and overall wellness. Guided by the lessons learned over decades of research and trial and error, Chris now helps guide clients to live a healthier lifestyle, achieve their goals and develop sustainable habits to live a fit, healthy and balanced life.
Driven by a desire to help her clients, and her own intellectual curiosity, she studies the latest research, examines new trends and reads everything. Chris also draws on her experiences through her 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and now her 50’s to customize fitness plans and guide and inspire her clients to work toward their own wellness goals.
In her 20’s Chris spent time in the military, giving her “real” boot camp experience and developing her sense of organization and discipline. After the military, she started her career as a full-time, stay at home mom. This was when she learned about gardening and growing, canning, dehydrating and preparing whole nutrient-dense foods, as well as how to efficiently manage a home, children, volunteer responsibilities and to stay in shape after multiple pregnancies. Having three children in five years gave Chris lots of opportunities to test weight loss and exercise theories during and after pregnancy helping her to feel energized and in control.
As the 30’s rolled around, Chris experienced one more pregnancy, learning that your body changes and it gets a bit tougher to lose baby weight post partum. She also learned what it’s like to be a newly single mother, full-time student raising four kids, and how to be a working mom. This helped her develop resilience, and gain a sense of balance and confidence as she overcame challenges. This was also the decade that she took a serious interest in fitness, planting the seeds to get a certification in fitness later in life.
Working as a banker, in her 40’s Chris decided to start training for her first triathlon and delved further into her fitness and health research. She loved her hours spent training and incorporated kayaking, hiking and snowboarding into her leisure time as well. Later in her 40’s she also struggled with weight gain from a slide into a less active and unhealthy lifestyle. This allowed her to experience, first hand, how much more difficult it is to lose weight and regain your fitness level as you get older.
Now in her 50’s, Chris finally decided to follow her passion and earned her Personal Training Specialist certification with Canfitpro and has also earned various certificates in TRX, nutrition, stress management, mindfulness and meditation. She believes we should never stop learning and is continually working on further certifications. She is now fit at 50 and helping her clients find their way to being strong, happy and healthy at whatever age they are. She believes in being joyful and learning to love and accept ourselves as we are.
She can be found teaching group strength training classes in her community as well as using her extensive experience to deliver a variety of programs to her clients to help them incorporate wellness and balance into their lives.
